CarMax is currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Vehicle Delivery Driver to join their team in Austin, Texas. This role is vital in connecting the customer’s online buying journey to the physical delivery of their purchased vehicle, ensuring an iconic car-buying experience from start to finish. As a Vehicle Delivery Driver, you will operate company-owned two-car haulers to deliver vehicles safely and efficiently to various locations, including customer homes. Beyond driving, this role involves loading and unloading vehicles, verifying vehicle conditions and cosmetic standards, completing paperwork for home delivery transactions, and providing outstanding customer interaction. You will be the face of CarMax during deliveries, upholding the company’s high standards of service and professionalism. This position requires more than just driving skills; it demands strong communication abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Vehicle Delivery Drivers must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements by conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and adhering to hours-of-service rules. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of delivery driving experience or CarMax experience, excellent customer service skills, and a clean driving record. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate manual transmissions proficiently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions is also necessary. • Must be 21 years of age or older
• possess a valid state-issued driver’s license
• have a clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years
• ability to comply with DOT and FMCSA qualification requirements
• minimum of 1 year customer service experience
• minimum of 1 year delivery driving experience or 1 year CarMax experience
• good communication and teamwork skills
• adherence to CarMax policies and procedures
• able to lift up to 50 pounds and winch transported vehicles during loading
• proficient in operating a manual transmission
• willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
