This part-time position within Sanford Health offers an attractive pre- or post-retirement schedule, working one week on and one week off with daily hours from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., totaling 22.5 hours per working week. This role does not require weekend or holiday shifts, providing an ideal work-life balance. The hourly salary range is between $15.00 and $22.50, accompanied by a matching 401K benefit which supports long-term financial stability.
The role at hand is that of a valet service professional responsible for delivering outstanding front-line customer service and creating positive first and last impressions for patients, families, visitors, and others who utilize the valet service at any designated entrance. The valet acts as a welcoming face of Sanford Health by exhibiting extraordinary professionalism, tact, and empathy, especially during busy or stressful circumstances. This job requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, walking up to eight miles a day, which emphasizes the physical endurance and commitment necessary to fulfill job duties effectively.
Key responsibilities include greeting customers, parking their vehicles safely, providing directions, assisting anyone utilizing handicapped parking areas, and performing general maintenance of valet entrances both inside and outside. When patients and visitors are ready to leave, the valet promptly retrieves their vehicles and returns them with a warm and courteous attitude. Additionally, valets assist healthcare staff during patient discharges by opening vehicle doors and helping with loading personal belongings, ensuring a smooth transition for patients leaving the facility.
The position demands excellent problem-solving abilities and capable operation of all types of motor vehicles, whether manual or automatic. The valet's behavior reflects on the overall image of Sanford’s campuses, requiring a caring attitude towards all customers and their vehicles alike. Communication skills are essential to interact effectively, tactfully, and courteously with guests, and valets must be perceptive to the needs of patients and visitors, directing them to appropriate resources when necessary.

The job may also involve non-emergent patient and visitor transport within a one-mile radius of the medical care facility, underlining the role's versatile and supportive nature.
