This role is for a Dish Washer position at Black Bear Diner Vallejo, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and sanitation within the kitchen and surrounding areas. The employee in this role is responsible for ensuring all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment are meticulously cleaned and sanitized, supporting the kitchen’s daily operations. Attention to detail is critical as maintaining the dishwashing machine and chemicals used for sanitation also falls under this role’s scope. Beyond washing, the employee will be tasked with keeping the kitchen back areas, dumpster, parking lot, and guest restrooms clean and orderly to meet health and safety standards. This position requires punctuality, proper uniform adherence, and a neat appearance proving the employee’s professionalism and commitment to the establishment’s standards. Physical endurance is key, as standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 50 pounds is expected. • Be punctual to begin work
• Wear proper uniform including black slacks, Black Bear Diner Tee-shirt, hat, and black slip-proof shoes
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance with well-trimmed facial hair, clean and trimmed nails, and no excessive jewelry
• Responsible for sanitation of all dishes, glassware, and silverware
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing machine
• Manage dish machine chemicals and sanitation fluids
• Follow proper procedures for washing pots and pans including pre-soak, wash, rinse, and sanitize
• Organize dish room
• Restock kitchen lines with dishware
• Re-stock food servers area with glassware, silverware, and empty buss tubs
• Clean kitchen floors, freezer, refrigerators, cooking and baking equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of back areas, dumpster, trash container, guest restrooms, and parking lot
• Report all chemical shortages and item breakages
• Take out garbage and cardboard for scheduled pickups and request management help if needed
• Take breaks on time and punch in and out appropriately
• Willingness to work overtime
• Ability to stand and walk for up to four hours without sitting
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to multitask including using radio headset
• Complete assigned tasks from management
