We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Overnight Utility Steward to join our team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational standards of our kitchen equipment and related areas during overnight hours. The steward will work closely under the supervision of the Executive Steward, performing cleaning duties across various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, refrigerators, freezers, and work surfaces. The Overnight Utility Steward is responsible for cleaning both upper and lower stove areas, including items like salamanders, hoods, and deep fryers. Additionally, the role involves draining, filtering, and replacing cooking oils to ensure equipment functions properly and meets sanitation standards. This position requires the individual to safely handle cleaning chemicals and use appropriate protective gear. The Overnight Utility Steward also supports other kitchen functions, such as working as a pot washer or kitchen worker when necessary. A key part of the role involves regular inspection of equipment for cleanliness and repair needs. Any issues like loose screws or damage must be promptly reported to the supervisor to maintain a safe working environment. To thrive in this role, candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or an equivalent education level. Previous customer service experience is preferred, alongside the ability to understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) paperwork, which is essential for the safe handling of chemicals used in the cleaning process. Certifications such as Food Handler and ServSafe are also required to comply with health and safety regulations. The Overnight Utility Steward position requires a gaming license and demonstrates a commitment to maintaining operational excellence during overnight shifts.
