The Warehouse Associate role is an essential position within GRID Alternatives, focusing on managing warehouse operations to support the organization's mission. This full-time, non-exempt role offers an hourly wage range between $17 and $34, based on experience. The Warehouse Associate will oversee staging, loading and unloading equipment, stocking inventory, managing fleet, tools, and equipment maintenance, as well as executing logistics for smooth warehouse functioning. The position entails purchasing materials and picking up deliveries to facilitate affordable energy projects for low-income families and communities.
In close collaboration with the Construction team and other departments, the Warehouse Associate coordinates installations and events, communicates with clients, and performs other relevant tasks. Key performance indicators for this role include leading the handling and organization of equipment before and after installation projects, managing inventory, maintaining fleet and tools, and overseeing orders while seeking discounts or donations. The associate will also train volunteers, students, and job trainees in warehouse and construction-related activities, further supporting the organization’s workforce development efforts.
Additional responsibilities encompass administrative tasks involving computer use for communication and coordination, conducting site visits, assisting with solar electric system design and installation, managing permit packages and rebate paperwork, and troubleshooting installations. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight trips within designated counties including San Bernardino, Riverside, and Inyo. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are mandatory, along with the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and ascend or descend ladders.
