This role of Meal Delivery Assistant is critical in supporting these objectives by assisting in the preparation of meals as well as delivering them to clients along designated routes and during specific time periods. The position involves practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination and maintain quality, ensuring all hot and cold food items are kept at the proper temperature using thermal carrying bags. The assistant is responsible for complying with HHSC guidelines for meal delivery along with adhering to safety procedures within the kitchen and following sanitation requirements. The role also demands participation in mandatory training sessions and may include additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth meal distribution and client satisfaction.
The position requires physical endurance and the ability to work in various environmental conditions ranging from high noise levels to extreme temperatures. Responsibilities include moving heavy objects, operating machinery, and working sometimes in outdoor elements, necessitating a keen sense of direction, communication skills in English and Spanish, and a tactful approach when dealing with the public. - Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate
