The Day Porter - Grounds position at AMS is a vital role within the Operations team. This full-time, hourly role offers a competitive wage ranging from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience, and involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the exterior and interior cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of school grounds and facilities. The chosen candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive individual responsible for ensuring that the campus environment remains a safe and pleasant space for students, staff, and families alike. The ideal candidate for the Day Porter - Grounds position will have a strong attention to detail and take pride in their work ethic, performing duties ranging from routine landscaping and minor maintenance to handling safety and security measures. Responsibilities include sweeping, raking, and clearing debris from sidewalks and parking areas, trash removal, maintaining playground safety, using landscaping equipment such as weed eaters and blowers, and keeping irrigation systems operational. Additionally, they will assist with power washing, minor painting, and performing light maintenance tasks like changing HVAC filters and light bulbs. Proficiency in handling groundskeeping equipment safely and following safety and chemical handling protocols is essential. This role also involves collaborating closely with school staff and event coordinators, supporting driveline operations by managing safety cones and signage, and contributing to event preparation by setting up rooms and cafeteria spaces as needed. The Day Porter - Grounds will report maintenance and supply needs transparently to the Office Manager and Facilities management team to guarantee timely repairs and supply replenishment. • High school diploma or equivalent
