The role of Cook at AdventHealth Daytona Beach is an essential position within the Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) team, reporting directly to the FANS management team. This full-time position is scheduled for day shifts from 12:15 PM to 8:45 PM, including weekends, reflecting the hospital's commitment to providing round-the-clock food service to patients, staff, and visitors. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and handling of food, adhering strictly to established recipes, sanitation regulations, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines to ensure safety and quality in all food offerings. This role requires culinary expertise to prepare food for patient therapeutic and regular diets, retail food, the hospital cafe, and catering services. This position offers a dynamic work environment where the cook plays a vital role in patient care by providing nutritious, appealing meals that meet dietary and therapeutic needs. Responsibilities include following culinary production records, cooking in small batches or to order to maintain food quality and temperature, checking and prepping for upcoming meals, and ensuring that food preparation aligns precisely with food production sheets and room service tickets.
