CPKC provides a competitive compensation package that includes a $5,000 signing bonus for new hires and an average annual conductor salary of approximately $117,000, with potential to earn up to $133,000. The company supports employees with a flexible benefits package, pension or retirement plans, employee share purchase programs, fitness subsidies, and educational opportunities for part-time studies. Safety is paramount at CPKC, with pre-employment requirements including physical and drug testing, medical assessments, and background investigations to ensure compliance with industry standards. Beyond a job, CPKC offers a career with purpose and a workplace culture that embraces equitable hiring practices, inclusivity, and support for diverse communities including women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and people with disabilities. Located in Marquette, Iowa, this full-time union position involves significant travel, approximately 80-90%, and requires excellent communication skills, physical endurance, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
