Located in Dublin, California, the position of Trade Show & Events Manager at ZEISS Ophthalmology presents an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team instrumental in elevating the company's presence at trade shows and events. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the planning and logistical execution of Carl Zeiss Meditec USA, Inc.'s participation in complex trade shows, seminars, and meetings. The Trade Show & Events Manager will oversee cross-functional teams and vendors, ensuring that every event meets ZEISS's high standards of excellence. This position demands a proactive leader who can independently make critical decisions, manage detailed budgets of up to $1.5 million per event, and deliver exceptional event experiences from inception to completion. Responsibilities include leading booth layout and design efforts aligned with marketing and sales strategies, negotiating vendor contracts, and managing post-event analyses. This role involves travel to event sites to oversee setup and teardown, requiring hands-on involvement and strong organizational skills.
The Trade Show & Events Manager must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate teams, and adeptness in managing non-reporting cross-functional groups. The role also requires working collaboratively with global counterparts, sometimes in multilingual contexts, to ensure cohesive event execution. The position offers a competitive salary range between $87,600 and $109,500, with eligibility for performance bonuses or sales commissions. - Four-year college degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in complex national trade show and event coordination
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior medical tradeshow experience preferred
- Ability to travel a minimum of 30 percent annually for one week or more at a time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work with global teams where English may not be the main language of communication
