Topeka, KS, USA, KS Full-Time $19 - $28
The Wellness Coordinator position is a full-time role within a well-established senior living community, reporting directly to the Apartment Director. This community is committed to enhancing the quality of life for its residents by providing comprehensive health and wellness programs tailored to support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Wellness Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a motivating and supportive environment that promotes healthy lifestyles, which directly contributes to resident retention and satisfaction. As a vital member of the community team, the Wellness Coordinator collaborates closely with the Marketing and Activities Departments to create and implement innovative wellness initiatives that cater to the diverse needs of residents. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple wellness activities, from yoga and Tai Chi to book clubs and computer lessons, ensuring a holistic approach that addresses mind, body, and spirit. The successful candidate will engage with residents in organizing, facilitating, and encouraging participation in wellness programs that enhance their quality of life and support their independence. The Wellness Coordinator’s responsibilities include analyzing resident retention needs and making strategic recommendations to improve engagement through wellness programs. In addition, this role involves assisting with the development and implementation of marketing plans that highlight the community's commitment to wellness, which plays a critical role in attracting prospective residents. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining fitness and recreational equipment, tracking program attendance and outcomes, and communicating regularly with residents about upcoming activities. Beyond direct program management, the Wellness Coordinator supports safety protocols, ensures compliance with health regulations, and manages the logistics of wellness-related events. The role demands a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. A current driver’s license with a CDL and Passenger Endorsement is required to transport residents safely to activities, appointments, and community events. Prior experience in a similar environment, preferably with a background in occupational therapy or nursing assistance, is strongly preferred. This role exposes the coordinator to a range of physical activities, requiring strength and stamina to lift and transport materials weighing 35 to 50 pounds. The position also involves continuous interaction with residents, staff, and family members, demanding attention to detail and a high level of alertness to ensure resident safety.
