The Test Pilot role within Airbus’s Engineering department based in Mobile, AL is a critical and highly specialized position. The primary responsibility is to conduct and oversee the execution of ground and flight tests on production aircraft models such as the A220 and A320. This role demands an experienced pilot with extensive flight test knowledge and the capacity to manage complex, dynamic test environments ensuring all testing adheres to stringent safety and regulatory standards. The Test Pilot serves as the captain for test flights under Airbus's delegation, approving flight conditions and ensuring adherence to authorized test plans. This includes coordinating closely with flight test engineers, dispatch teams, and engineering departments to facilitate technical debriefs and resolve any issues identified during testing. Key duties include managing the safety and efficiency of flight tests, liaising with customers during aircraft delivery, and supporting broader flight test related tasks including assisting training departments and participating in external flights and international collaboration. The working environment is fast-paced and involves frequent travel, often to international locations, requiring flexibility and high professionalism. • Graduate of an EASA recognized flight test school
• 3000 plus total flight hours
• Flight test pilot experience greater than 1000 flight hours
• Current multi-pilot instrument rating
• ICAO ATPL eligible for conversion to EASA ATPL
• ICAO English Level 5
• Recent Fly-By-Wire experience
• Refined communication skills to resolve problems and focus on objectives
• Ability to work dynamically both independently and collectively
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Ability to travel alone internationally for about three months
• Ability to work flexible extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Authorized to work in the US
