The Pilot Instructor role at FlightSafety International is a critical position focused on delivering high-quality ground-based training for C-17 pilots utilizing the established Training System (TS) curriculum. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $69,850 to $118,800, with compensation reflective of a candidate's experience, education, skills, and prevailing market conditions. The Pilot Instructor is responsible for instructing, evaluating, and mentoring pilots to achieve proficiency in air drop operations, aerial refueling, and other tactical procedures associated with C-17 aircraft. Utilizing a variety of training devices, including the Weapon System Trainer and flight simulators, this role requires dynamic instructional capabilities and in-depth subject matter expertise to effectively convey complex operational concepts. The successful candidate will participate in courseware development, modification of training materials, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the training program. Key responsibilities include conducting training sessions that span both simulator and actual aircraft environments (in an observer capacity), maintaining instructional currency, managing administrative duties related to student progress and records, and providing expert guidance during formal evaluations and check flights. The Pilot Instructor will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting test events, and participating in various operations group meetings, curriculum reviews, and safety or security assignments.   • Bachelor's degree
  • Eight years flying experience with at least five years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling experience or able to obtain AMC/A3TK waiver
  • Two years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling, and tactics
  • Recent C-17 flight simulator pilot instructor experience preferred
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of instructional principles and software applications
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance
