The open position is for a Service Porter who is also safety sensitive, reporting directly to the Service Manager or Service Administrator Manager. This role plays an integral part in enhancing the overall customer service experience at the dealership by ensuring the smooth and safe handling of customer vehicles. The Service Porter is primarily responsible for greeting and assisting service customers, driving customer vehicles between designated areas, maintaining vehicle security, and supporting the service team in organizing the service drive area. This non-exempt position requires an individual who embodies professionalism, punctuality, and an unwavering attention to detail. The Service Porter must adhere strictly to the dealership’s policies and federal, state, and local laws, especially concerning safety and confidentiality.
In this role, the Service Porter facilitates efficient movement and parking of vehicles, including the use of company-provided shuttle services to transport customers to predetermined locations when necessary. The position demands a keen eye for detail in vehicle identification and strong communication skills for customer interaction and team coordination. Employees in this role are tasked with keeping vehicles clean and secure while on the dealership premises, ensuring that customers' cars are both protected and handled with respect. Moreover, the Service Porter is responsible for monitoring the safety of employees, customers, and dealership property and promptly reporting any safety risks or irregularities to management.
