Uchiko in Miami Beach is a newly opened, vibrant addition to the culinary scene brought to life by Hai Hospitality, a respected multi-concept restaurant group based in Austin, Texas. As a sibling to the acclaimed Uchi, Uchiko carries forward the legacy of James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole’s original nontraditional Japanese cuisine while infusing it with a unique, fiery twist through the use of smoke and char. This dining experience is distinguished by its fresh and clean flavor profiles, enhanced with creative culinary techniques that set Uchiko apart in a competitive food market. With this expansion into Miami Beach, Uchiko aims to deliver an extraordinary Japanese dining experience to a dynamic and diverse audience.
In the Sushi Chef role at Uchiko, you will play an essential part in bringing this innovative dining concept to life. As a vital member of the culinary team, your contribution will directly impact the quality of service and the memorable experiences guests have at the sushi bar. This is a guest-facing position that involves interacting closely with customers, taking orders, explaining intricate sushi dishes, and delivering an exceptional level of personalized service. Sushi Chefs at Uchiko are expected to master various sushi stations, progressively advancing skills and knowledge as they contribute to the creation of innovative dishes that feature both on daily specials and the core menu.
The role offers gainful employment with an estimated average compensation of $25 per hour, combining hourly wages with tip income. Uchiko values professionalism, artistry, and a commitment to excellence, making this position perfect for culinary artists passionate about Japanese cuisine and eager to work in a bustling, guest-centered environment. Uchiko also prioritizes a supportive team atmosphere, providing opportunities for ongoing learning and growth within the restaurant group, which operates flagship locations in several major cities across the United States.
Joining Uchiko means becoming part of Hai Hospitality’s award-winning family of restaurants, which includes Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro across Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale. The company offers a robust set of employee benefits and is committed to promoting from within, creating a clear career trajectory for motivated individuals. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your culinary career in a fast-paced, high-volume sushi kitchen where creativity, collaboration, and customer satisfaction are the priorities.
