As a Store Team Member, you will play a vital role in helping customers find the perfect products for their pets and ensuring a pleasant in-store experience. Your responsibilities include assisting customers with pet product selection tailored to their pet's needs, educating pet owners on animal care, and maintaining the store's clean and welcoming environment. You might engage in activities such as helping a terrier owner choose chew toys, guiding a cat parent through ingredient labels for food, fitting harnesses on dogs, and educating young customers about pet ownership. The job also involves stocking shelves, processing transactions efficiently as a cashier, unloading deliveries safely, and providing care for the animals in the store, such as feeding and cleaning habitats. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift heavy items weighing between 40 and 65 pounds and stand for long periods. Pet Supplies Plus supports continuous learning through their Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Team members are expected to be flexible with their schedules, including working evenings, weekends, and holidays, and must be at least 16 years old and able to pass a drug screening where applicable.
