The role of Dish Washer at Sycuan is an essential position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. This hourly role involves more than simply cleaning dishes; it encompasses ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly by providing adequate supplies of clean pots, pans, utensils and dishware. The dishwasher will use various methods including scraping, racking, stacking, and washing plates, as well as operating and unloading dishwashing machines. Manual washing may be required for delicate items, and organized storage of clean items is part of the duties.
Maintaining a safe and sanitized kitchen environment is critical in this role. This includes organizing soiled kitchenware properly before washing, promptly cleaning spills, mopping floors, and placing caution signs to mark wet or hazardous areas. The dishwasher also cleans counters, shelves, walls, ceilings, and equipment to ensure the kitchen area meets all health and safety standards. An orderly storage space is maintained by arranging food products and wiping surfaces, as well as disposing of waste responsibly.
Additionally, the dishwasher must complete mandatory health and safety training as required by the department, helping to reinforce safe working practices and compliance with regulations.
