The Food and Beverage & Culinary team at The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Food and Beverage Attendant to join their full-time, non-management staff. The position offers an hourly wage of $19.68. This role is vital to the smooth operations of the hotel’s dining services, directly impacting guest satisfaction and overall efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing opening and closing duties, such as setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning equipment, locking doors, and maintaining stock levels throughout the work areas. They will also operate the MICROS point-of-sale system to input and process orders, handle payments accurately, and prepare food and coffee beverages to meet brand standards. Attention to detail is essential in ensuring appliances like coffee makers are appropriately turned on and off during service hours.
Moreover, the Food and Beverage Attendant plays a key role in maintaining a clean and organized environment by bussing coffee cart areas, washing dishes and utensils, cleaning tables and workspaces, and adhering to all safety and security policies. The position requires a professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve common goals. Physical demands include standing or walking for the entire shift, lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, and performing various movements such as bending, twisting, and stooping. The role also requires vigilance in reporting any safety hazards, completing safety training, and supporting the brand mission of exceptional guest service and wellness.
