The Sushi Chef position at Momiji plays a pivotal role in the culinary team, tasked with preparing a range of fresh ingredients and crafting sushi dishes that meet both menu standards and customer preferences. The role requires a strong focus on food safety, consistency in adhering to recipes, and skillful presentation to delight the eyes as much as the palate. Sushi Chefs at Momiji work closely with kitchen and sushi bar staff, ensure the freshness of ingredients, and contribute to maintaining a well-organized and safe work environment. Beyond food preparation, the Sushi Chef supports inventory management by communicating with the Head Sushi Chef about ingredient needs, ordering, and minimizing waste. - Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment
- Must have manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
