The Terminal Management - Customer Service division within the George Bush Intercontinental Airport plays a critical role in upholding the airport's reputation as a 5-Star facility. With a mission centered on friendly, safe, and efficient airport operations, the division employs talented airport professionals who embody the core values of the Houston Airport System. The team is responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations while delivering exceptional service to passengers, visitors, tenants, and employees alike. The Airport Services Representative I is an entry-level but pivotal role within the Terminal Management - Customer Service team at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. This role primarily involves assisting customers as they move through airport terminals, managing common use facilities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. The position requires shift work, including weekends, holidays, and rotation, responding flexibly to operational needs. Key responsibilities of an Airport Services Representative I include facilitating the smooth processing of international passengers through Federal Inspection Services in partnership with Customs Border Protection, using multilingual skills to assist a diverse clientele including dignitaries and government representatives, and promoting collaboration among passengers and partners to enhance overall service quality. The representative also manages information booths, lost and found services, monitors facility conditions, and supports airport safety initiatives via the Safety Management System. Candidate eligibility includes completing a high school diploma or GED along with at least one year of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality or aviation environments. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to provide innovative solutions. Compliance with security and licensing requirements such as passing background checks and holding a valid Texas Class C driver’s license is mandatory. Working conditions for this position include moderate physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking long distances on varied surfaces, and exposure to various environmental conditions. The role is classified under pay grade 13 and is safety-impacting, requiring adherence to drug testing and physical examination protocols.
