The Special Events Manager at The Mint Museum is a crucial role within the Special Events Department, reporting directly to the Director of Special Events. This position is exempt and full-time, designed for a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational skills. The Special Events Manager is responsible for leading the planning, management, and production of a wide array of museum events, including fundraising galas, corporate functions, tradeshow exhibitions, and conferences. These events are essential for revenue generation, community outreach, and promoting the museum's mission. The role requires someone who can expertly craft event themes, develop detailed event programs, communicate effectively with attendees and corporate donors, and manage vendor contracts and logistics. The position demands outstanding time management skills, with a commitment to responding to inquiries promptly and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Manager organizes site tours, provides cost estimates, and creates comprehensive timelines and task lists for event execution. Additionally, they lead planning meetings with various internal departments such as housekeeping, security, collections, and exhibitions, ensuring seamless coordination during events. Negotiation skills are essential for managing vendor contracts and securing necessary services including catering and audiovisual equipment.
