As a Transportation Equipment Dispatcher, you will be integral in maintaining the service integrity of assigned areas by ensuring that all dispatch operations align with company protocols and safety standards. The role involves entering dispatch events into the Transportation Management System (TMS), verifying equipment locations via yard inventories, and managing load/unload statuses through routine yard checks. Timeliness and accuracy are key, as dispatchers must report missing equipment, investigate delays, accidents, and equipment failures, and implement contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery. In addition to operational responsibilities, the role demands strong communication skills to liaise with management regarding Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside violations, schedule adjustments, and compliance audits. The Transportation Equipment Dispatcher also supports management with Business Control Self Assessment audit activities by retrieving required data and reports. The position requires attention to detail when reviewing trailer load condition reports to ensure proper documentation.
