The Baker role at Levain Bakery in Back Bay is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about artisan baking who want to be part of a collaborative, supportive, and high-quality food production team. Bakers at Levain are responsible for crafting a diverse range of baked goods including loaves, baguettes, rolls, cakes, muffins, and brioche by hand every day. This role emphasizes both the artistry and technical skill required to maintain Levain’s high standards of taste, texture, and appearance. As a baker, you will work closely with a dedicated team, including mentorship from the Head Baker, to efficiently scale, mix, portion, proof, and bake products with identical consistency and quality each day. You will also be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your workspace in accordance with health and safety regulations. The role demands a high degree of precision, adaptability, and problem solving, as well as comfort using specialized equipment such as stand mixers, convection and deck ovens, cutting tools, rolling pins, lames, and electric scales. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience baking breads and cakes, hold a Food Safety Manager Certification, and possess a genuine enthusiasm for the craft of baking. This is a full-time position requiring early morning shifts starting between 4:30am and 6:00am, with weekend and holiday availability necessary.
