The role of Baggage Handling Systems Control Room Operator (CRO) at Siemens Logistics LLC, based in San Francisco, California, is a critical position responsible for the real-time monitoring and control of airport baggage handling systems. This full-time, permanent position requires an experienced professional who can manage system operations from a control room environment, ensuring seamless baggage processing and minimizing disruptions. The control room operator will serve as the central communication hub for all baggage handling system activities, coordinating with maintenance personnel to swiftly address faults or failures. This role demands an individual who is technically competent, calm under pressure, and skilled in maintaining detailed logs and system reports. In this position, the CRO will closely monitor line balancing and system performance metrics, including laser array statistics, to optimize operational efficiency. Making quick operational decisions and coordinating fallback procedures to keep the system running smoothly during outages or faults will be essential duties. Given the physical demands of the job, the role involves occasional lifting, bending, climbing, and prolonged periods of standing or sitting. Effective and clear communication with maintenance and operations teams, as well as airline and airport staff, is a cornerstone of this role to ensure continuous operational flow.
