The role available is at the Clubhouse Kitchen & Bar located in the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley Hotel, a respected and established hotel venue. This position requires 2-3 years of experience serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous manner, aiming to maximize guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing beverages both for direct consumption and for service by other staff members, as well as performing cashier duties within the lounge area. This is a role that demands excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, mixing and garnishing drinks according to standard recipes with prudent portion control, maintaining bar stock and setup, and ensuring all products including perishables are prepared and stored properly to maintain quality. Financial accountability is integral to the position, involving cash handling, making change, processing transactions, and balancing monetary receipts accurately. Additionally, this role encompasses operational duties such as locking and securing all bar and food items, handling cash deposits, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards throughout the shift. The position operates in a 24/7 hotel environment which necessitates flexibility in shift schedules, varied starting times, and varying hours across the workweek. The candidate must also be knowledgeable about and comply with all relevant state, federal, and corporate liquor laws, particularly those related to the service of alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests. A current Food Handler Card is mandatory for this role, alongside basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, standard portion sizes, and usage of beverage equipment. Physically, the role demands the ability to stand and walk constantly during shifts, lift up to 30 pounds regularly, and perform repetitive tasks such as twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, and handling glassware and beverage equipment. The role also requires sufficient manual dexterity for garnishing and drink preparation and strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
