The Restaurant Manager role at Del Taco is a pivotal leadership position responsible for protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand by fostering a vibrant service culture and driving business results. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the Restaurant Manager leads day-to-day operations within the restaurant, ensuring the entire team meets Del Taco’s high standards for food quality, service, and operational compliance. This role involves fully staffing the restaurant with quality individuals, recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees who exemplify Del Taco’s values, and maintaining a certified team through ongoing training. The Restaurant Manager develops and nurtures team members and future managers, creating an environment centered on fun, teamwork, and career development.
The role demands strategic execution of Del Taco’s operational processes and standards 100 percent of the time, including facility maintenance, equipment safety, product quality, cleaning protocols, uniform standards, and consistent customer experience. At the core of this position is achieving or exceeding sales plans by building customer counts and loyalty through targeted efforts like local store marketing, understanding trade areas, driving speed and service standards, and accurately staffing according to sales forecasts. The Restaurant Manager is also responsible for flawlessly executing marketing promotions and campaigns and achieving profitability targets by carefully managing staffing levels, labor compliance, inventory controls to reduce waste and prevent theft, cash handling procedures, audits, safety and health protocols, and controlling costs related to repairs, supplies, and vendor services.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $83,200 and $85,000, reflecting the importance of this leadership role in driving both operational excellence and profitable growth. It requires a minimum of three to five years of experience in the QSR or full-service restaurant industry, ServSafe certification, and strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills alongside the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team under pressure. The role entails both office and restaurant environments, with physical demands including prolonged standing, sitting, typing, and occasional bending or lifting. Flexibility in travel with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance is essential to manage multiple restaurant locations within the assigned area.
