The Retail Operations Supervisor at Columbia Care plays a vital leadership role within the Dispensing Facility, reporting directly to the General Manager. This full-time position, offering a starting pay of $18.00 plus benefits and tips, involves overseeing daily operational functions in the dispensary, ensuring compliance with the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program rules, and managing staff training during the Manager’s absence. The Supervisor acts as the primary interface between dispensary staff, patients, caregivers, and regulatory bodies, maintaining the highest standards for patient identification, record retention, inventory control, and overall facility security. Key responsibilities include managing point-of-sale transactions, monitoring patient-specific logs, auditing inventory using BioTrackTHC software, resolving inventory discrepancies and patient-staff conflicts, and overseeing privacy policies to protect patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Further responsibilities include liaising between internal teams and external entities such as law enforcement and health commissioners, directing department managers to meet operational and safety goals, and ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols related to product packaging, labeling, and adverse event reporting. The role requires strong operational oversight of product storage, delivery, transportation, and distribution systems, along with implementing and maintaining comprehensive security systems. The Supervisor also plays a crucial role in fostering a positive company culture focused on quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and high performance.
Human resources functions are integral to this position, encompassing the implementation of HR policies, compliance activities to minimize risk, accurate job description management, conducting investigations related to employee relations, managing grievances, facilitating organizational development, training, and performance reviews, as well as talent acquisition and workforce planning. The Supervisor is also expected to build and manage quality assurance programs linked to performance reviews and develop compensation and benefit strategies that motivate staff. Additional duties involve maintaining facilities conducive to productivity, managing company-wide communications and change, and ensuring overall employee safety, wellness, and health.
This role requires standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, with manual tasks involving lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds or more with assistance, and demands excellent verbal and non-verbal communication within a moderate noise work environment. - Must be at least 21 years of age

- Bachelor’s degree or 3 years management administrative experience focusing on employee relations and talent management
- Hands-on experience with full scope of human resources operations and analysis
- Passion for managing all aspects of retail operations including staffing, compliance, inventory control, purchasing, theft prevention, and product diversion
