This position is focused on managing kitchen operations that emphasize locally sourced, sustainable, and organic ingredients to maintain high-quality food standards. The Sous Chef will play an integral part in menu planning, purchasing, inventory management, and cost control, supporting SpaceX employees by fostering a pleasant and creative culinary environment. Ideal candidates will bring over three years of sous chef or culinary management experience, alongside a passion for innovating menus that celebrate seasonal ingredients and creative culinary art. Responsibilities include leading food safety initiatives, hosting staff meetings to address quality and innovation, and ensuring the kitchen and café spaces uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. This role also supports catering for company events, which strengthens the community spirit within SpaceX. Candidates should be able to work extended hours as needed and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Applicants must be prepared to relocate to Central Texas if not currently residing in the Waco area. Moreover, this position requires compliance with rigorous ITAR regulations, meaning eligibility criteria around U.S. citizenship or appropriate legal statuses must be met.
