The Sous Chef position at Sycuan offers an exciting opportunity to partake in the culinary operations of both the casino and resort facilities. This role is pivotal in supporting the Executive Chef in crafting and implementing delectable menus that meet high standards of quality and guest satisfaction. The Sous Chef is responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations efficiently while leading kitchen staff to maintain productivity and food safety. In addition to preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes, this role involves overseeing production cooks’ performance and providing coaching and training to uphold presentation and portion control standards. Employees in this role will also have opportunities to coordinate catering events both on-site and off-site, ensuring successful execution from setup to cleanup.
Beyond the culinary tasks, the Sous Chef must ensure that kitchen and storage areas meet strict hygiene and safety guidelines, maintaining sanitary conditions and proper food handling practices. - High school diploma or g.e.d or equivalent experience
- ServSafe manager certification
- 2 years cooking in a commercial kitchen
- 1 year supervisory or sous chef experience
