Currently, Bamboo Sushi is hiring for the position of Sous Chef at its University Village location in Seattle, with opportunities for growth within other locations across Seattle and Portland. The role of Sous Chef holds a key leadership position within the kitchen team, playing a critical role in managing back-of-house operations and maintaining the highest culinary standards. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 per year, plus a 10% bonus potential, reflecting the importance of the role and Bamboo Sushi’s appreciation of its talented culinary professionals.
As a Sous Chef at Bamboo Sushi, the successful candidate will provide supervision and coordination to ensure smooth kitchen operations. They will work closely with the Chef team to uphold a culture of positivity and accountability while acting as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef manages schedules, verifies completion of opening and closing duties, and ensures all food is prepared and executed following company standards. With responsibilities extending to inventory management, quality control, and staff training, this role demands strong organizational skills and leadership abilities.
In addition to culinary expertise, the Sous Chef is expected to maintain an impeccable and sanitary workstation, adhering strictly to state and company food safety standards. The work environment involves frequent public interaction and requires adaptability in a dynamic setting with occasional distractions. Physical capabilities, such as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs or ladders, are also essential.
