The role of the Sous Chef at WesleyLife is a critical leadership position within the culinary team. This full-time role, based primarily on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with no late nights required, is designed for a culinary professional passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences to seniors. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef by managing kitchen operations, ensuring all meals are nutritious, beautifully presented, and meet strict health and safety standards. This role requires flexibility with some weekend and evening shifts and focuses on collaboration with a skilled culinary team where ongoing growth and career advancement are strongly supported. The Sous Chef will have the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents across multiple dining venues including the upscale Vita Fine Dining Restaurant, the casual Sante' Bistro, and specialized care dining rooms. Responsibilities include leading meal production, adhering to refined recipes, and innovating menus to cater not only to general tastes but also specific dietary requirements and modified diets that affect residents' health and satisfaction. This position values cleanliness, efficient workflow, infection control practices, and minimizing food waste, all within a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
