We are currently seeking full-time hourly Sous Chefs or Assistant Kitchen Managers to join our culinary team immediately. This is a non-exempt position with a pay range based on experience, offering an annual salary from approximately $63,807 to $80,309 or an hourly wage from $22.31 to $28.08 for 50 hours per week. As a Sous Chef at P.F. Chang's, you will play a vital role in leading a high-volume, scratch kitchen culinary team responsible for daily food preparation and execution of menu items. The position demands consistent adherence to high operating and food quality standards while fostering a positive and fun work environment. You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring the culinary staff, ensuring guest satisfaction through exceptional culinary experiences, and supporting the restaurant management team with scheduling, interviewing, and hiring.
The Sous Chef position is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring the candidate to engage in prep and line cooking as needed to maintain timely food service. Maintaining the highest levels of sanitation and safety in compliance with state guidelines is crucial. - 2+ years of prior culinary or restaurant experience
- Exposure to managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
- Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced, high volume environment
- Experience mentoring and training hourly team members
- Must be able to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours in length each shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. repeatedly during a shift
- At times it might be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment including a wok, mixer, slicer, and buffalo chopper
- Must be able to use knives appropriately and maintain their integrity
- Must be able to work around various levels of temperature, including warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen
