Currently, Eurest is hiring immediately for a full-time Sous Chef position at the NIKE Adapt Cafe located at 165 Wingo Road, Byhalia, MS. This full-time role offers a fixed pay rate of $20.00 per hour and a work schedule with days and hours that may vary, with additional details to be provided during the interview process. The Sous Chef plays a critical role in the daily operation of the kitchen, working closely with the Executive Chef to prepare and cook food, manage food production, and ensure that high-quality standards are met consistently. This position involves coordinating the activities of cooks and other food-service associates, stepping into the Executive Chef’s role when necessary to maintain smooth kitchen operations. The Sous Chef must ensure that food preparation adheres strictly to approved recipes and production standards, meeting all deadlines related to production orders. This includes overseeing and supervising hourly food service associates, being involved in hiring processes such as interviewing and scheduling, managing payroll, training and counseling staff, and conducting performance reviews.
The role requires meticulous attention to food safety standards, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of correct serving temperatures, in compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations. The Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen, including equipment, supplies, utensils, and workstations, to guarantee a clean and safe foodservice environment. Customer interaction is also part of the job, resolving complaints in a friendly manner and effectively communicating relevant information to supervisors. This role demands readiness to respond to peak production and service hours efficiently while managing inventory, product deliveries, and waste tracking.
