The role of the Sous Chef at Resort Lifestyle Communities is an exciting opportunity to contribute to this mission by providing resort-style food and hospitality. This position requires collaboration with the Executive Chef, Community Managers, and other Culinary and Dining team members to create memorable dining experiences for residents and guests. The Sous Chef plays a vital role in maintaining high culinary standards while also ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining atmosphere consistent with the community’s resort lifestyle concept.
Working under the guidance of an expert Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will develop skills and leadership qualities essential in culinary arts while offering leadership support in the Executive Chef’s absence. The role involves preparing meals from scratch using diverse cooking styles, ensuring each dish is both appealing and nutritious. Key responsibilities include cooking a variety of foods including meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and eggs, maintaining clean and sanitary workstations, monitoring pantry inventory, and ensuring all food handling practices meet safety standards.
This is a full-time position offering a well-structured schedule, working lunch and dinner shifts Tuesday through Saturday, with dinner service ending at 6:30 pm, ensuring no late nights. - High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Culinary degree or higher education preferred
- Previous culinary leadership experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to obtain food handler permits within two weeks
