The role of Banquets Sous Chef at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing is a pivotal position within the Food and Beverage department. This full-time management role requires a seasoned culinary professional who is adept at managing banquet kitchen operations and supporting the preparation of food items for various outlets, including banquets and the employee cafeteria. The Banquets Sous Chef is tasked with overseeing food preparation based on standardized recipes while ensuring that the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation are consistently met. The position demands meticulous attention to kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and safety protocols, with a strong emphasis on cost control and waste minimization to optimize the cost-to-production ratio. In addition to culinary expertise, the Banquets Sous Chef plays a key supportive role to the Sous Chef and Food and Beverage Director in executing smooth kitchen operations and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. This management-level role requires hands-on involvement as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities effectively. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of progressive banquet kitchen experience within a hotel or related environment, complemented by supervisory skills and proficiency in company-approved computer applications such as spreadsheets and word processing. The ability to communicate clearly, make swift and accurate decisions, and manage problems proactively in high-pressure situations is essential. Strong financial literacy and problem-solving abilities further contribute to success in this role.
