The role of Sous Chef at Oak View Group is critical for ensuring the operational and culinary excellence of the company's food service offerings at various venues. This position requires an individual who will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train, and mentor kitchen employees to uphold company quality standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Sous Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of employee relations to foster a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment. The role demands a dynamic leader capable of maintaining excellent attendance and adapting to a variable event-driven schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
As a Sous Chef, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the Executive Chef in kitchen operations, including organizing workflow, supervising preparation and presentation, conducting inventory and ordering, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring a professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and strong independent decision-making abilities. The position offers an hourly wage of $26.00 to $29.00 and includes a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, featuring health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, and paid time off comprising vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays.

                - High school diploma or equivalent GED
 - minimum of 3 years in similar position in an upscale banquet, hotel or convention center setting with prior supervisory experience
 - state issued Health Certificate and immunizations
 - Serve Safe certified
 - ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and long hours
 - must be able to stand for extended periods
 - must be able to make fast, simple, repeated movements of fingers, hands and wrists
 - ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach
 - must be able to repeatedly lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
 - proficiency in computer software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook
