The Sous Chef position at Oak View Group is a pivotal role within the company's culinary and hospitality division. This role involves actively supervising, coaching, counseling, directing, training, and mentoring employees to meet and exceed the company’s quality and service standards. The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and cooperative work environment by independently managing all aspects of employee relations. This includes motivating staff, facilitating training, handling disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational guidelines. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 and is a vital position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping, food inventories, ordering of food products, and organizing employee work schedules to ensure full kitchen coverage and smooth operations. - High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar supervisory role in banquet, hotel or convention center setting
- State issued health certificate and up-to-date immunizations
- Serve Safe certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive hand movements
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
- Must have a good sense of taste and smell
- Proficiency in MS Office software
