We are currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at the University of Arkansas. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $22.00, with a variety of work shifts tailored to business needs, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to the campus dining demands. As a crucial member of the kitchen staff, the Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays an instrumental role in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality and safety. The role involves supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and food service associates, maintaining kitchen sanitation, managing inventory, and stepping in to lead in the absence of the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will bring prior culinary experience, with additional catering expertise considered a plus. Responsibilities include preparing food according to established recipes, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed in compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations.
