The Lead Cook position at Aramark plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality food preparation and kitchen operations. This role involves cooking and preparing food by strictly following standardized recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The Lead Cook is responsible for safely managing kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers, and must demonstrate proficiency in handling kitchen tools such as knives. In addition to cooking duties, this role includes supervising and training kitchen staff, scheduling daily work activities, and delegating responsibilities to ensure efficient kitchen workflow. The Lead Cook must prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and trimming, and use a variety of cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to achieve the highest food quality. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and utensils is essential to comply with health and safety regulations. The role demands a positive attitude toward customers, guests, coworkers, and clients, alongside following all Aramark safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Furthermore, the Lead Cook is tasked with producing and maintaining work schedules and may be required to prepare production records, contributing to smooth daily operations.
