The role of Sous Chef at Invited is essential to maintaining the high standards of food quality and kitchen operations across its prestigious clubs. As a Sous Chef, you will support the daily kitchen operations, overseeing line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure consistent excellence in food preparation, presentation, and kitchen sanitation. This role requires a high level of flexibility, teamwork, and dedication to offering an exceptional dining experience. The Sous Chef will be responsible for managing the day-to-day food production, assisting in menu development, and enforcing all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all food products meet the Invited standards for portion size, presentation, and quality. You will oversee various dining services including ala carte dining, employee meals, and private dining rooms. Your expertise will expedite meal periods while maintaining proper quality and presentation of all dishes. Additionally, you will be involved in hiring, training, supervising, and when necessary, performance-managing kitchen staff to promote knowledge, morale, and adherence to service standards.
Your responsibility will extend to administrative tasks such as preparing work schedules, monitoring payroll costs, participating in Food & Beverage meetings, managing budgetary requirements, and controlling expenses related to food supplies and kitchen equipment. You will also analyze food and labor production reports and play an active role in procurement, receiving, and inventory management of food supplies and kitchen goods.
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations will be a critical part of your duties. You will interact professionally with members and guests, accommodate last-minute requests, contribute to a positive team environment, and address member or guest complaints with effective service recovery.
