The Sous Chef position at Bon Appetit Management Company is a seasonal role based in the Abercrombie & Fitch Global Home Office located in New Albany, Ohio. This position offers a pay range between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour with seasonal schedules requiring open availability from 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Sunday, with flexibility depending on business volume. The role primarily supports the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, overseeing kitchen operations, and coordinating activities among cooks and food service associates. The Sous Chef is responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared according to approved recipes and production standards and that food safety regulations are followed meticulously. As a vital member of the kitchen team, the Sous Chef supervises hourly food service staff by conducting interviews, scheduling, training, counseling, and handling payroll duties. The role requires ensuring sanitation and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and workstations, maintaining high standards for food handling, presentation, portion control, and service temperature. The Sous Chef must also manage inventory and deliveries, track product usage, consumption, and waste, and take initiative to inform supervisors when supplies are low. Interaction with customers to address complaints in a courteous and service-focused manner is an essential aspect of the job.
