The Blackberry Sommelier is a full-time salaried leadership position focused on delivering an exceptional wine and spirits experience to guests throughout their dining and resort journey. This role is integral in managing the expansive boutique wine and craft spirits program with daily tastings that offer guests unique connections to small batch producers from acclaimed wine regions such as California, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and beyond. The Sommelier works closely with the front-of-house service team, playing a vital role in leading dinner service and ensuring guests receive memorable and expertly guided beverage selections. This position requires a deep passion for wine and spirits education, a positive team-oriented attitude, and a commitment to upholding Blackberry Farm’s renowned guest service standards. Beyond everyday guest interactions, the Sommelier participates in specialized events such as food and wine gatherings that feature producers and chefs from around the world, creating outstanding experiences that highlight Blackberry Farm’s culinary excellence. Responsibilities include leading daily tastings, restocking and managing wine cellars, supporting and training service staff in beverage knowledge, and participating in regular inventory counts. The Sommelier must be capable of working extended periods on their feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, and safely operating vehicles such as golf carts. Successful candidates will have experience working within a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment, possess comprehensive knowledge of wine and spirits, and demonstrate excellent communication skills both with guests and team members.
