ShopRite is hiring for a Front-End Associate position, a role pivotal to delivering a great customer experience. As part of the customer-facing team, the Front-End Associate will be responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and efficient checkout service. This entails accurately scanning, pricing, and bagging products, handling various forms of payment, and ensuring that customers receive proper change when necessary. The role demands attention to detail to maintain accurate cash handling procedures and transaction processes while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards. This position requires physical stamina, as associates need to stand or walk for the duration of their shifts, which may last over eight hours. Additionally, the associate must be able to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs, including performing tasks that involve bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Working in different temperature environments and handling cleaning agents and various foods in compliance with safety and hygiene standards are also essential parts of the job. Beyond transaction processing, the Front-End Associate plays a role in maintaining the store’s cleanliness and safety, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment according to department standards. Employees must also demonstrate friendliness and helpfulness when interacting with customers, support promotional activities, and comply with shop policies on uniforms and grooming. The role requires an understanding of store layout and product locations, as well as the ability to recognize different types of products, including perishables and produce. • Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
• Ability to work in varying temperatures
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
