The position includes setting up and breaking down dining areas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hours, as well as performing other hospitality duties such as serving afternoon teas, snacks, and catering evening entertainment. Wages for this position range from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus additional bonuses, making it a lucrative opportunity for individuals looking to build a foundation in hospitality with the added adventure of traveling across the United States. Employees have the opportunity to create lifelong relationships with fellow crew members and guests alike while gaining skills relevant to a career in hospitality and cruise line services. Servers must be prepared to work long hours, including a 12-hour workday and 7 days a week, for the entire 28-week season. The role also involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing and walking. Compliance with grooming standards and safety regulations is required, ensuring a professional appearance and adherence to all shipboard safety protocols. Drug testing is mandatory under federal law, and the consumption of alcohol is prohibited during work periods to maintain high standards of guest service and safety. This position is an excellent entry-level opportunity in the cruise industry, offering valuable experience and the chance to advance within the company. While management positions are not guaranteed, employees are encouraged to use the skills and knowledge acquired to pursue career growth within American Cruise Lines.
