The Server role within American Cruise Lines is a pivotal position aboard the ships for the 2026 cruising season. This is a temporary assignment lasting approximately 28 weeks, where the successful candidate will contribute to the hospitality department by providing outstanding dining services in the shipboard hotel and restaurant. Servers act not only as food and beverage attendants but also as vital ambassadors of the brand, engaging with guests to create a luxurious and memorable dining atmosphere. Throughout the 28-week cruise season, servers are responsible for setting up and breaking down each meal service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hours. They ensure that tables are elegantly arranged with appropriate linen, china, glassware, and silverware to meet high hospitality standards. Servers address all culinary requests with efficiency and professionalism, assist guests by presenting menus, suggesting courses and wines, and answering questions regarding meal selections. Precise communication with the galley is essential to relay orders and guarantee that food and beverages are served beautifully and on time. Beyond routine duties, servers may also assist during special events on the ship such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and supporting evening entertainment events. This role requires an individual who is physically capable of meeting the demands of the job including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and maneuvering through the ship’s environment. Employees must be able to commit to long working hours—typically 12-hour shifts for seven days a week, reflecting the rigorous pace of life on board. American Cruise Lines provides comprehensive support by covering major living expenses such as travel to and from the ship, room and board, uniforms, and paid training, making it easier for employees to focus on delivering impeccable guest service.
