With an extensive fleet of modern, authentic small ships, ACL offers travelers the opportunity to explore the country’s scenic beauty, historic landmarks, and vibrant cultures in comfort and style. Known for their commitment to quality, personalized service, and showcasing the rich heritage of the United States, American Cruise Lines stands as a beacon of excellence in the cruise industry, particularly for those interested in discovering America's natural and cultural treasures from the water. American Cruise Lines prides itself on being not only a leader in small ship cruising but also a top employer in the hospitality sector. The company emphasizes values such as optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit—principles that guide every aspect of their operations from the shipboard experience to employee engagement. Working for ACL means joining a team that takes pride in sharing America’s story aboard some of the finest American ships. ACL is currently recruiting Servers for the 2026 cruising season, offering a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting and dynamic onboard environment. The Server position is a temporary, seasonal role that lasts for 28 weeks, during which employees contribute to providing guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience. Working onboard one of ACL’s ships, Servers are responsible for maintaining high standards of hospitality and professionalism that reflect the company’s brand values. This role requires working long hours—up to 12 hours per day, seven days a week—and involves a range of physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Servers are vital to the overall guest experience and act as the face of the company during cruise operations. Their duties include setting up and breaking down meal service areas, greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, making menu recommendations, taking and relaying food and beverage orders promptly, and ensuring that all items are served attractively and with care. Additionally, Servers may also be involved in greeting guests at embarkation, serving afternoon tea and snacks, and assisting with evening entertainment events. This position serves as an introduction to the cruise hospitality industry, building foundational skills useful for career growth within American Cruise Lines or the broader hospitality sector. The company offers competitive wages ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses. Importantly, all major living expenses—including travel to and from the vessel, room and board, uniforms, and training—are covered by ACL, making it an excellent opportunity to save earnings while gaining valuable experience. Employees get the chance to travel across more than 50 itineraries covering 35 states, creating lifelong connections with crew members and guests alike. The company maintains strict standards regarding safety, conduct, grooming, and drug testing to ensure a professional and secure working environment.
