The role of Server at CJE SeniorLife involves receiving and fulfilling food and beverage orders with exceptional attention to detail and quality. This is a key position within the dietary department, supporting residents and guests in a food service setting that prioritizes health and safety standards. This position offers multiple shift options including full-time, part-time, and flexible shifts, accommodating a variety of scheduling needs. The full-time shift runs from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, part-time from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and flex shifts from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Compensation is competitive at $18.53 per hour, with an additional shift differential of $0.75 per hour for 2nd shift and weekend work. Candidates in this role will be expected to maintain compliance with health codes, personal hygiene standards, and safety precautions to prevent food preparation accidents. The ability to communicate effectively, respond promptly to resident and guest needs, and participate actively in training and staff meetings is essential. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. This role requires passing the Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire, demonstrating a strong understanding of food safety principles and operational procedures. • High school diploma or GED preferred
• One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must pass Illinois Food Handler Course within 60 days of hire
• Valid food handlers permit required
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
