The Senior Director of Citywide Sales is a critical leadership role within this dynamic organization. This position is responsible for setting strategic direction, developing new business opportunities, and reinforcing Las Vegas' position as the premiere destination for large-scale meetings, conventions, incentives, and trade shows. Beyond managing a portfolio of high-impact business prospects, the Senior Director oversees and mentors a dedicated team of National Sales Managers to optimize their performance aligned with organizational goals. This role is highly strategic and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams including marketing, analytics, and resort partners to implement innovative sales strategies that drive demand and occupancy in Las Vegas.
The Senior Director leads by example with a business-first mindset and innovative approach, cultivating valuable partnerships and maintaining influential connections in the meetings industry. Extensive domestic and international travel is part of the role, enabling the director to represent the LVCVA at key industry events, build client relationships, and further grow Las Vegas' brand as a top-tier business destination. A strong emphasis is placed on data-driven decision-making, sales pipeline development, and ROI accountability. The role also includes budget management and ensuring all sales-related activities are accurately documented and reported.
Ideal candidates bring over 10 years of experience in destination or citywide convention sales, business development, or a related hospitality and tourism sector role. They should be proficient in managing fast-paced, relationship-driven environments, and possess a demonstrated ability to engage with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers. Qualifications such as industry certifications including Certified Meetings Professional (CMP), Certified Exhibit Management (CEM), or Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) are preferred. The role demands exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the aptitude to deliver compelling presentations and reports.

                - Over 10 years of experience in destination sales, citywide convention sales, or business development within the hospitality, travel, or tourism industry
 - High school diploma required, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred
 - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
 - Exceptional communication skills, able to engage effectively with clients, vendors, management, and Ambassadors in various formats
 - Skilled in public speaking and presentations, with the confidence to respond to questions from executive teams, board members, clients, and stakeholders
 - Strong writing skills, capable of preparing reports, budgets, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
 - Willing to travel extensively to support business needs
 - Current U.S. Passport for international travel required
