The role of Cashier, internally referred to as Front End Team Member, is central to our customer service mission. This position involves processing sales transactions accurately, handling payments, verifying identification, and promoting our loyalty programs while bagging customers’ products efficiently. Cashiers are expected to create a positive shopping environment by greeting customers warmly, engaging with them to build lasting relationships, and sharing product knowledge gained through ongoing training programs, especially related to our wine, spirits, and beer selections. The role also includes maintaining store safety and cleanliness standards and ensuring strict adherence to laws regulating alcohol sales. Additionally, Cashiers may be assigned cross-functional duties such as supporting sales assistant or merchandiser tasks and stock associate responsibilities, fostering a versatile and collaborative work atmosphere. This job can be seasonal for up to six months, with seasonal employees having the opportunity to apply for permanent positions afterward. The position requires individuals who can work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, reflecting the retail business's operational needs. Physical requirements include being able to stand for extended periods, bend frequently, climb ladders, and lift items up to 50 pounds, sometimes in outdoor weather conditions.
