The director is responsible for managing the activities of the Food and Beverage Department, including restaurants, room service, lounges, markets, and banquet services, with a focus on maintaining high-quality food products and achieving budgeted payroll and overhead cost targets. The Food and Beverage Director will also develop and lead their team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and excellence.\n\nIn addition to supervisory and strategic responsibilities, the director is expected to work hands-on as required, which may include functioning in the role of a Chef. This position involves significant interactions with guests and colleagues, requiring exemplary communication and problem-solving skills, especially in stressful and high-pressure situations. The director must have a thorough understanding of hotel operations and departmental interrelations to effectively forecast, budget, manage labor, and control purchasing in pursuit of maximum productivity and cost management. Ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, safety, reducing waste, and maintaining safety standards across all kitchen and service areas are paramount.\n\nFurthermore, the Food and Beverage Director is entrusted with accessing sensitive areas and information within the hotel, underscoring the importance of trustworthiness and maintaining a professional reputation.   • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • 2-year college degree with 3 or more years of related experience or 4-year college degree with 1 to 2 years of related experience or Culinary degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive experience
  • Holds and maintains certifications including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, spreadsheets and word processing
  • Extensive experience in restaurant bar, banquet, catering, in room dining and kitchen management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and select alternative actions quickly
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations maintaining composure
